Pubs Closed, Borders Open
Whilst the indigenous population are under house arrest and not allowed to leave their homes unless absolutely necessary, 100,000 people are arriving each week UNCHECKED for the virus.

Illegal immigration into the UK is also on the increase with British authorities helping more unchecked illegal migrants cross the Channel and ‘settle’ into the UK

Police, wearing no masks & observing no distance rules, are arresting people for breaking the social distancing ‘guidelines’.

Meanwhile, 2 people were arrested for ‘inciting hate’ after placing stickers with ‘Pubs Closed, Borders Open’ written on them.

10,000s of Eastern Europeans are flown in to pick fruit & veg on farms whilst British applications were rejected.

The Tories love GDP, not the British people.

Gotta love that globalism.

What I don't like is all these Portugese and Kiwis coming over and working in our NHS. Send them home I say. Wayne in Nelson Mandela Block B in Peckham can't wait to do his 16 hours shift.

The UK in WWII 880,000 British forces died

That is just wrong.

UK military casualties in World War 2 were under 384,000.

Pubs opening is what matters, its what defines this country.... getting lashed up, having a laugh, banter with fellow human beings.

Talking about things being closed and open, I await the day when people's minds will be open. A day that will never come especially in the modern age where narcissistic cultures are the norm fed by social media and consumerism etc..

Most pubs sell globalised products. It’s not all beer made out the back and ham sandwiches made from the the pig grown in the back garden any more! Many city pubs use Immigrants as staff too.
Obviously there are some pubs that sell Surrey Hills, employ their family and sell locally produced scotch eggs.

Re: Pubs Closed, Borders Open
No. Not at all. There are many things I’ve changed my mind on. Most sensible people do.

Great example is that nearly all A&R men rejected The Beatles before they were singed to EMI however they clamoured over signing a lot of bands that cost them a lot and turned out shit. When you’re betting on a future outcome you have to come to a conclusion.

So, regarding Brexit I love freedom of movement and that remains my no 1 belief. However I do see a lot of value in Corbyn’s visions of localised tendering of nationalised and government run institutions. I think government can redistribute wealth into the areas that require it in many ways and this Virus is once again highlighting that.

I do see the absolute value of local powerful democracy I just think it can only work perfectly if people are well educated and properly informed.

None of this has changed in my thinking.

So you’re supportive of Brexit now then Branded?

It must be very confusing being you with the amount of times you change your mind about things.

Re: Pubs Closed, Borders Open
Without a doubt it’s a clusterfuck.

Absolutely typical of modern political classes and globalised thinkers. No fucking idea about the impact upon ordinary nationals whether it is their livelihood, beliefs or desires.

I’m certainly moving more and more to the idea that localisation of political and economic decisions is the only way they can be justified. That, after all, is what democracy is.

This pandemic shines a spotlight even more on certain biases and belief systems and will have individuals questioning even more the way politicians orient their operations towards paymasters and beliefs against those desired by the people.

However, the people need to be openly and correctly informed and it is clear we do that very badly in the UK.

Zeb 1216, spot on, a bit of a slog for all until we get there but compared to the depravities of WW1 trenches or children being burnt to shit in firestorms in heavy bombing of WW2, this is a walk in the park really.

Problem is people nowadays are spoilt and haven't got the minerals to cope with what is a harsh reality check.

Re: Pubs Closed, Borders Open
The UK in WWII 880,000 British forces died, 6% of the adult male population and 12.5% of those serving. These men were all young fit and capable of contributing to the rebuilding of the country on their return after 1945 sadly they never made it back. This doesn’t account for many more civilian men, women and children who died in the blitz.

There was a drastic shortage of working age people in the following years and decades, not because they didn’t want to get their hands dirty, but because they were all dead.
